Dear Vice-President Margaritis Schinas,
Dear Commissioner Stella Kyriakides,

As the cases of Monkeypox have been rising dramatically in the past weeks, European action is
needed.

I very much welcome that HERA concluded a contract with the company Bavarian Nordic to
purchase 109 090 doses of their 3rd generation vaccines in response to the current monkeypox
outbreaks.

It’s important to mention that the vaccines will be financed through the EU4health program for
which existence the European Parliament fought hard for.

After concluding the contract, it is important to get as many people vaccinated as fast as possible.
Therefore, I ask the European Commission:

How is the allocation key for the vaccines against monkeypox? which criteria are in place to
distribute the vaccines?

Could you provide a list of each member state and the amount of vaccine doses the current
member state already received?

When will the delivery of the ordered vaccines be finalized?

How many vaccines against monkeypox did the EU order in total?

Is the EU commission considering to order more of the vaccines to ensure that everybody
part of a risk group in Europe gets the chance to get vaccinated?

If yes, how will this be organised?

How many doses does the commission want to order?

Yours sincerely,
MEP Rasmus Andresen, Greens/EFA
